The Rui Cunha Foundation (FRC) is hosting its annual exhibition “APMCACE Comics 2025 + Hong Kong Machines” until August 23, featuring artworks by renowned Hong Kong artist Felix Ip (葉偉青), the foundation said in a statement last week.

Co-organised by the Association of Promoting Macau Comics and the Animation Cultural Exchange (APMCACE), the exhibition is presented in two parts. The first week, held from August 12 to 17, featured “Comics 2025” with around 30 new works by five local artists: Leung Wai Ka (梁偉家), Nasu (茄子/ナス), Vincent Ho (湖水藍), Yeung Siu (蓮生), and ST.

Starting yesterday, the second week exhibits replaced the earlier works with about 30 pieces by Ip, former creative and movie director for Imagi Animation Studios and Unicorn Animation Studios. The opening ceremony took place at 4 p.m. yesterday, with Ip in attendance.

Curated by APMCACE President Howard Chan (陳兆銘), “Hong Kong Machines” highlights Ip’s career as a comic artist, illustrator, animation director, and art designer. According to the statement, Ip’s  works include Zentrix, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Astroboy, and Monkey King Reloaded. His martial arts novel adaptation “Blood and Steel” won the Best Adult Comic Golden Dragon Award in 2012, while his 2019 artbook HongKong Machines 1 earned the Best Artbook Award in the Asia Pacific Animation & Comics category.

The exhibits, which are copies of the originals, are for sale, according to the foundation. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the FRC Gallery, Avenida da Praia Grande, No 759, Luen Pong Bldg.,with free admission.
