The Sands China Ltd. Macau Open Badminton 2025 held at the East Asian Games Dome in Cotai concluded yesterday, according to the HSBC BWF World Tour website.
The tournament is an event of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300, co-organised by Badminton World Federation (BWF) of Macau, and Sands China, with live coverage of the final rounds streamed globally on BWF TV.
The total prize money for the event, according to the statement, was US$ 370,000 (2.99 million patacas).
According to the official website, Indonesian Alwi Farhan claimed the Men’s Singles title, defeating Malaysian Justin Hoh 21-15, 21-5. Meanwhile, the mainland’s Chen Yufei secured her victory after defeating Line Christophersen from Denmark 21-17, 21-17 in the Women’s Singles.
The website highlighted that Farhan has a World Ranking of 25 and World Tour Rank No. 34 in Men’s Singles. Chen, meanwhile, is ranked No 5 in both the tour and the World in Women’s Singles.
Malaysian pair Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap emerged victorious in the Men’s Doubles, beating Indonesian pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani 22-20, 21-18, while the Women’s Doubles crown went to Chinese Taipei’s Hsieh Pai-Shan and Hung En-Tzu after beating Japan’s Kaho Osawa and Mai Tanabe 21-18, 21-12, the statement added, while the Danish pair Athias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje were crowned champions in the Mixed Doubles after defeating Malaysia’s Jimmy Wong and Lai Pei Jing 21-13, 21-16.
