4.3 magnitude quake rattles Macau - a bit

A 4.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 18:48.50 p.m. in Qingcheng District of Qingyuan City in Guangdong Province rattled Macau, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) said in a statement.

Many residents reported feeling the tremor, including staff members of the Post in their office. 

There were no reports of any injuries or damage caused by the temblor in Macau. 

According to the SMG statement, the epicentre of the quake was located about 166 kilometres north-northwest of Macau.

Three residents informed the local weather station that they had felt minor tremors, which lasted for a few seconds, the statement said. 

According to Hong Kong’s public broadcaster RTHK, the quake had focal depth of about 10 kilometres, adding that residents in cities including Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Foshan, Zhuhai and Dongguan reported the tremor as well.
