The Public Security Police (PCP) announced in a statement yesterday that eligible foreign travellers in cars with no more than nine seats can complete immigration clearance at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Macao Port (checkpoint) without leaving the vehicles they are in.

The statement noted that the PSP have conducted a thorough assessment of cross-border travel demand and the vehicle clearance capacity at the Macau Port of delta bridge.

According to the statement, slated to start on Monday, travellers who are nationals of visa-exempt countries for Macau entry and hold a valid passport may complete immigration procedures without leaving the vehicle they are in when entering the HKZM Bridge Macau Port. Additionally, all foreign travellers holding a valid passport also may complete exit procedures without having to leave their vehicle via the checkpoint’s designated exit lanes.

The statement added that travellers ineligible for in-vehicle clearance may complete immigration procedures either at the vehicular lane’s adjacent passenger inspection room or in the entry-exit halls near the vehicle lanes.
