A tourist coach was gutted by fire on Avenida Marginal Flor de Lótus in Cotai on Friday night, the Fire Services Bureau (CB) announced in a statement later that night, pointing out that no-one was injured in the incident.
The bureau said in the statement that a fire broke out on the bus when it was driving past the Marina Bay residential estate. The driver and the two passengers fled the coach immediately and called the police for help.
The statement said that the coach was burnt to the frame and its interior was blackened, with glass fragments scattered all over the area, while a near-by bus stop sign was damaged. The bureau said it believed that the blaze was caused by mechanical failure. No one was injured or “suffered any discomfort” during the incident.
