Macau is slated to host the 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) from June 10 to 12 at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo, featuring over 250 thematic forums, business meetings and networking events, according to a statement released by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) on Friday.

The three-day event, jointly organised by IPIM and the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), will focus on critical infrastructure topics including smart connectivity, energy transition and sustainable development, the statement noted. The statement also said that 12 specialised forums will address the key challenges facing the global infrastructure sector.

“More than 200 business matching and networking sessions will be held concurrently,” the statement noted, adding that these aim “to efficiently enhance the connectivity among upstream and downstream organisations* across the global infrastructure industrial chain in areas such as design, financing, procurement, construction, and operation.”

The event will see the release of two major industry reports: “The Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index Report 2025” and “The Report on Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Infrastructure Development Index and Macao’s Achievements in the Belt and Road Initiative 2025”.

Free and open to members of the public, the forum expects to draw participants from across the global infrastructure sector. Further details are available at https://www.iiicf.org/

*In business and supply chain management, upstream and downstream organisations refer to the different stages of a production or distribution process relative to a company’s position in the value chain. While upstream organisations focus on the supply side, i.e., inputs for production, downstream organisations focus on the demand side, i.e. getting products to customers. – DeepSeek
