Local non-profit institution CURB – Centre for Architecture and Urbanism is again hosting its Macau Architectural Photography Competition, marking its fourth edition and taking on the theme “INSIDE OUT”.
Accepting submissions until June 30, the competition features Open and Student categories, according to a statement on Sunday by the organisers, shifting the perspective inwards in this year’s contest and aiming to showcase Macau’s architecture “in a fresh and revealing way”.
Participants are invited to “step inside Macau’s built environment and discover the rarely-seen details of architecture from the INSIDE OUT”, according to the statement. They are also invited to capture “how interior spaces transform structures into meaningful places”, the statement said.
The top three winners in each category will receive a cash prize, along with certificates. According to the competition website, 3,000 patacas is up for grabs for the top prize winner of the Open category, while the first-prize recipient of the Student category will be awarded 1,500 patacas.
The contest is open to Macau ID card holders, holders of non-resident work permits (colloquially known as “blue card”) and study permit holders. The website also noted that those in the Student category must be enrolled in a local or overseas higher education institution or high school and aged below 30.
Submissions can be made on https://competition.curb-center.com/ , where more details can also be found. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 9, while an exhibition for the winning works is also slated to be held.
The contest has drawn 539 participants and 1,273 submissions over the past three years since its launch, according to the statement.
