“Disney’s Frozen in Concert Film with Live Orchestra” is set to be held at MGM Theatre at MGM COTAI on May 31 and June 1, with the show to be held in celebration of Children’s Day.
Featuring scores from the award-winning 2013 animated film “Frozen”, which garnered Best Original Song (“Let It Go”) and Best Animated Feature at the 86th Academy Awards, the upcoming two-day concert will be performed by the Macao Orchestra together with acclaimed singers.
According to a Friday statement from the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the concert will be held under the baton of the orchestra’s Assistant Conductor Tony Cheng-Te Yeh. Among the singers performing are Alyssa Fox, who plays Elsa in the US Broadway tour of Frozen; Ray Liu, who dubbed and sang for Anna in the Chinese version of the animated film; RJ Woessner, who plays the warriors Kristoff and Hans; and CJ Tan, who plays Olaf; and the choir SEMISCON Vocal Band.
The statement noted that the concert, presented by the bureau in conjunction with the orchestra and integrated resort operator, will also feature a synchronised film screening using the theatre’s state of the art stage and audiovisual technology.
The upcoming concert is part of the orchestra’s 2024-25 concert season. The show on May 31 will start at 8 p.m., and at 3 p.m. the following day.
