A Filipino and two Indonesian non-resident workers (NRWs) were arrested on Thursday and Friday respectively for trafficking and taking drugs, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Cheong Kim Fong said during a regular press conference yesterday.

The 32-year-old Indonesian surnamed Zainal and the 27-year-old Indonesian surnamed Edho both worked as cleaners.

According to Cheong, the Judiciary Police (PJ) identified Zainal and Edho as drug dealers who sold drugs to patrons at night entertainment venues, and on Thursday, Zainal was arrested near the flat where both lived. Edho was caught later that evening in the same area. The police seized a total of five small packets of cocaine weighing 3.25 grams, with an estimated street value of about 5,500 patacas, along with an electronic scale, ziplock bags, and drug-taking paraphernalia. The police discovered that they had been collaborating in drug trafficking for over three months, and both tested positive for cocaine. However, under questioning both refused to cooperate.

The 42-year-old Filipino suspect surnamed Abregana worked in construction.

According to Cheong, based on intelligence, the Judiciary Police (PJ) identified Abregana as a suspected drug trafficker. They intercepted him in a street in the central district on Friday. The police searched his nearby flat and seized two bags of methamphetamine (also known as ice), weighing approximately 17 grams, with an estimated street value of about 56,000 patacas, along with a number of ziplock bags, an electronic scale, and a modified water bottle for taking the drug. The police discovered that Abregana had been selling drugs to fellow countrymen for over a month. Abregana tested positive for methamphetamine. However, he refused to cooperate during questioning.

All suspects have been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) and are facing charges of drug use, possession of drug-taking paraphernalia, and drug trafficking.
