Urban Kitchen reopens with new buffet concept amid COVID-19

Galaxy Macau’s JW Marriott Hotel has reopened its Urban Kitchen restaurant with a new buffet-dining concept with live cooking stations and seafood platters delivered to the table to ensure food freshness and safety.

The buffet line covers international delicacies from Macanese to Japanese, Thai, Italian and Southeast-Asian, with seafood, roasted meat and desserts.

Each table will begin with a seafood platter served at the table featuring Boston Maine Lobsters, freshly shucked French and Irish Oysters, as well as Red Snapper and Japanese Hamachi.

The live stations serving up Urban Kitchen’s scrumptious signature dishes, such as Abalone Porridge, Singaporean Laksa Noodles with Lobster Claws, Japanese Tempura and Spaghetti Truffle Carbonara à la minute are made to order at the live stations, while the restaurant’s iconic Roast Peking Duck with Pancake Rolls are served exclusively with guéridon* service, extending the hotel’s attention to detail in all areas to elevate the dining experience.

*Guéridon is a small round table. “Guéridon service is a term used in the restaurant business to refer to “trolley service.” Food is cooked, finished or presented to the guest at a table, from a moveable trolley.

At the dessert corner, the restaurant has added a bake-to-order Yuzu Soufflé and freshly-torched Crème Brûlée, along with more than 20 options.

The buffet is available every day from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and is priced at 528 patacas per adult and 259 per child aged 3 to 12 years old.

From now until July 17, Macau residents and non-resident workers can enjoy a 25-percent discount. For an extra 70 patacas per person, guests can indulge in unlimited red and white house wines and seasonal cocktails crafted by an on-site bartender.
