Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) President Guilherme Ung Vai Meng said yesterday that Chui’s family mansion in Avenida do Ouvidor Arriaga is neither in the government’s cultural heritage protection zone nor is it included in its protection list.

Ung made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting of the government-appointed Cultural Industries Council at the Tourism Activities Centre (CAT).

According to the website of the Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT), a 30-storey residential block comprising 113 flats and 167 parking spaces has been planned for the private plot, which covers an area of 1,081 square metres. The planned building will also have a five-story basement, the website says.
