“Slash Youth”, a term which describes youngsters who have more than one occupation and need to use slashes “/“ to separate their different roles on their curriculum vitae (CV), was how the new Miss Macau, Bobo Leung Lok Chi, described herself yesterday during the Miss Macau 2019 beauty pageant’s Q&A session.

The 26-year-old Miss Macau beauty pageant, organised by the SunCity Group, returned after a hiatus of a decade. After months of training, 12 candidates sashayed at the Venetian Macau’s Cotai Arena last night.

The contest celebrated the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the 20th anniversary of the Macau’s return to the motherland. According to SunCity, the pageant also aimed to promote Macau as a world-class tourism city.
