A drunk driver – a member of the teaching staff of a local university – crashed his car into the kerb in Avenida Marginal Flor de Lótus in Cotai last Saturday, Public Police Security (PSP) spokesman Kam Ka Kit said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Kam identified the driver as a man surnamed Cheong in his forties. He did not reveal the suspect’s academic rank, nor the university where he works.

According to Kam, the accident happened at around 9 p.m. last Saturday in the avenue on the western waterfront of Cotai running from near the Macau Jockey Club (MJC) to near the Seac Pai Van public housing estate in Coloane.
