A K1 pupil attending The Affiliated Primary School and Kindergarten of Kao Yip Middle School walked out of the kindergarten in Rua do Monte alone last Thursday, before being taken back to the kindergarten by a “kind-hearted resident”, the school acknowledged in a statement on its website on Friday.

The statement admitted that due to negligence by the kindergarten’s staff members, the unaccompanied pupil walked out of the building at the end of classes last Thursday afternoon, when the lone child was spotted by the “kind-hearted resident”.

The statement underlined that the child was safe and sound and the administrators swiftly informed the child’s parents about the incident.
