Chui conveys condolences over unionist’s death

Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On yesterday conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family of local veteran unionist Pun Hon Veng who recently passed away, aged 70.

According to a statement from the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM, also commonly known as Gung Luen) yesterday – to which Pun was an advisor, the latter passed away in the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital Centre last Saturday.

According to a statement from the Government Spokesperson’s Office (GPV) yesterday, Chui praised Pun for loving the country and Macau during his lifetime and devoting himself to safeguarding workers’ rights and interests. Chui described Pun as having been popular among workers from various sectors.
