Soler twin Giulio shows personal side through his paintings

To many, Giulio Acconci is the singer Julio from rock band Soler formed with his twin brother Dino. But not many know that Giulio can paint, neither did the musician himself until now.

Giulio, 45, was actually trained as a graphic designer before his music career with Dino took off when they debuted in 2005 as Soler and broke into the Hong Kong music scene, making them one of the best-known bands from Macau.

Born in Macau to Italian father Oseo Acconci and a Myanmarese mother, Giulio was brought up surrounded by artwork and sculptures made by his father, one of the artists who worked on the mosaic façade on the now dilapidated Hotel Estoril around Tap Seac.
