Student nabbed for hiring student to take exam

The Public Security Police (PSP) have arrested a local university student for hiring a non-local student to take an exam for her, while the non-local student has been arrested for using a fake identity card, a PSP spokesperson said during a regular press conference yesterday.

The spokesperson said an examiner of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) reported on Monday afternoon that one of the students did not resemble the photo on her student card, and therefore suspected that she was taking the exam for another student.

The substitute, a 21-year-old woman surnamed Zhang from Heilongjiang province, was in fact a student at another university in Taipa, according to the spokesperson, who declined to reveal the name of the university.

The undated handout photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday shows PSP officers escorting one of the fraudulent exam suspects to a police vehicle outside a police station.
