A local delegation of media representatives last week paid a visit to southeastern Taiwan, with the head of delegation, Jornal Va Kio editor-in-chief Leong Chi Sang saying that the policies for Taitung’s green tourism development and awareness of environmental protection are worthwhile for Macau to learn from.

Leong also pointed out that both Taitung and Macau are multicultural cities, adding that Macau could learn from Taitung’s development experience.

The local delegation, consisting of 25 representatives of 16 local media companies, went on a five-day tour of the southeastern part of Taiwan, namely Pingtung and Taitung counties, to experience their bed & breakfast facilities, learn about aborigine communities’ lifestyles, cultures and customs, and visit business incubators and exhibition platforms for the cultural and creative industries, apart from attending a presentation by local government on the concept behind the city’s development of tourism, environmental protection and infrastructure.
