Telecom operator CTM yesterday “sincerely” apologised for the partial failure of its Internet service that affected about 30,000 customers on Tuesday night.

The company also said that the incident was caused by a “software defect” in its system and that it would “completely” rectify the glitch to ensure the problem does not happen in the future.

The company held a special press conference yesterday to brief the media about the incident that affected Internet users for several hours on Tuesday night. The press briefing, attended by seven top management members including CEO Vandy Poon Fuk Hei, was held at its headquarters in Taipa.
