SJM denies hiring ‘cheap’ dealers to ditch higher paid

2017-04-07 08:01     Comment:0

SJM Chairman Ambrose So Shu Fai said yesterday the promotions and dismissals of all SJM employees followed the company’s internal regulations, rubbishing the rumour that the company is hiring low-paid new blood to get rid of higher paid experienced dealers.

According to previous media reports, seven former Casino Lan Kwai Fong dealers complained to the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) last Thursday that they had been forced to resign or were “unreasonably” fired. One of the ex-dealers, surnamed Chong, said: “The company probably wanted to replace us with new blood.”

Casino Lan Kwai Fong is one of the 18 casinos currently run by SJM, according to SJM’s official website.
