The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Friday that 200 cultural and creative brands and products from Macau, Zhuhai, Hengqin and other cities from the Greater Bay Area (GBA) were featured at the “Macao-Hengqin Craft Market”.

The craft market took place from Friday through yesterday at the Fuxiang riverside, in Hengqin Chimelong, the statement noted.

According to the statement, the Cultural Affairs Bureau invited nearly 40 Macau cultural and creative brands in an open call to join the event, and displayed and sold a range of cultural and creative products such as clothing and accessories, as well as knitted fabric.

The event was based on the Tap Siac Craft Market, the statement underlined, with the bureau arranging for the participation of Macau’s cultural and creative, and fashion industries. It was aimed at strengthening the initiative’s “synergy effect”, and enhancing Macau’s cultural and creative brands’ popularity, as well as expanding sales channels in the GBA.

The statement added that a “Macao Fashion Pop-up Store” was also set up to display 16 Macau fashion brands, while there were also music performances from 20 groups and singers from bands from Macau, the mainland and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs). Workshops were also held.

Meanwhile, the statement noted that IC President Leong Wai Man and her delegation visited the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin on Friday.
