The Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) said in a statement that over 120 companies participated in its “MUST Career Day 2023” yesterday, with more than 3,000 job vacancies and internship opportunities offered.

An opening ceremony was held for the event on the campus.

The statement noted that MUST Vice Chancellor and President, Chair Prof. Joseph Hun-wei Lee (aka Joseph Lee Hun Wei) pointed out in his opening speech that the private university has been “strengthening ties” with businesses and government entities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) in recent years.

The university has also been participating in the GBA’s development and “talent cultivation, deepening the integration of industry and education, and building a platform for cooperation among government, academia, and industry”.

MUST hopes to “attract more skilled and application-oriented talents” to the GBA, the statement added.

With the gradual recovery of the economy and the “surge” of human resource demand across all industries this year, the statement underlined that Lee expressed his hope that graduates “can seize this opportunity, adjust their mindset, enhance their competitiveness, and fully prepare themselves to explore their careers, accomplish their dreams, and serve society”.

The statement said that over 4,000 undergraduates and postgraduates are slated to graduate from the private university this year.
