The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) held its USJ Career Fair yesterday, which offered over 1,000 job vacancies and had more than 30 companies and organisations participating in the event, the private Catholic tertiary education institution said in a statement.

Themed “Taking the Chance of Recovery – Entering the Workforce of the Career Opportunity”, the statement noted that the fair was open to its students, alumni and members of the public. The job vacancies available, according to the statement, were in areas such as banking and finance, education and training, hospitality, and social services.

With over 600 students slated to graduate from USJ this year, the statement said that the one-day career fair provided them, along with USJ alumni and members of the public, with a face-to-face platform to help reach out to potential employers.

Through the fair, participants were offered a direct path to find and apply for jobs, submit their CV and request consultation from the employers at the event, the statement added. The employers briefed the jobseekers on their companies’ respective profile and job vacancy details at their booths, where they also conducted job interviews.

Moreover, three career talks were also held on job-seeking tips, modern finance, and education.
