The “2022 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2022MIECF) will take place from tomorrow through Sunday, with 420 online and offline exhibitors, including 144 from Macau, joining the event.

Themed “Commitment to Green Development, Moving towards the Dual Carbon Goals”, the three-day event’s details were announced yesterday during a press conference at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo.

During his speech, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute’s (IPIM) Acting President Vincent U U Sang noted that the event will have six main exhibition zones, a total of 457 booths and 261 on-site exhibitors “from all over the world”.

U noted that the event will be the “first professional exhibition ever that achieves ’carbon neutrality in Macau’”, with the event using a “carbon footprint calculator” to calculate its carbon emissions, aiming to achieve, with the aid of a professional carbon trading institution, net zero carbon emissions.

The event will feature the newly added “Eco-friendly Tableware Zone” and “Remote Exhibiting Zone”, while the “Green Mobility Zone” will once again be set up to showcase electric automobiles from 16 brands and motorcycles from 14 brands. In addition, three of the brands will unveil and exhibit new electric motorcycles, U said, while an electric motorcycle test drive activity will also be held.

U added that the event will have 19 fora, meetings and business matching sessions. This includes the Green Forum, which will be held for two consecutive days with four themed sessions and comprise nearly 40 experts and scholars, environmental protection industry leaders and senior managers from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macau invited to speak at the event.

The last day of the event will be the “Green Public Day, which is open to members of the public. For more details and to check out the event’s schedule, visit https://www.macaomiecf.com/miecf2022/en/general-information/events-at-a-glance/.
