The Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday announced the arrest of a man from the mainland on Thursday on suspicion of threatening gamblers on two occasions in two casinos with a syringe by claiming he had AIDS, in order to get the gamblers give him money to gamble with.

PSP spokesman Lam Keong made the announcement during a regular press conference yesterday. Lam identified the suspect as a 27-year-old man surnamed Guo.

On September 8, Guo saw that two men had won a large amount of money in a casino-hotel in Nape. Guo followed the pair and threatened them with a syringe filled with a red liquid in a hotel corridor, claiming he had AIDS. Guo told them to give him money so he could gamble, Lam said.
