The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) announced in a statement yesterday that its subsistence team will distribute extra vegetables and frozen food packs to households in the locked-down Polytec Garden’s Block 1, serving as food for storage or emergency food in case food packs cannot be delivered during the tropical storm that was getting closer to Macau last night.

The emergency food packs are enough for two days, according to the statement.

The statement noted that the team will also remove outdoor canopy tents and facilities in the Red Code Zone (locked-down building) for the public’s safety, which will be set up again after the storm.

Moreover, the collection of daily necessities delivered to the affected households by friends and relatives will be suspended during the cyclone, with the statement adding that for urgent household needs, residents in the Red Code Zone can call IAM on 2833 7676 or the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) on 2826 1126.

The statement said that households in the locked-down building were notified of the arrangements via text message. Meanwhile, the subsistence team will pay close attention to weather changes and notify the households via text messages when services resume.
