A local Filipino was caught for selling drugs and five other Filipinos were nabbed for buying and taking drugs in a hotel in Praça de Ponte e Horta (known in Cantonese as Si Ta Hau) on Sunday, Public Security Police (PSP) spokeswoman Cheong Im Sim said at a regular press conference on Wednesday.

Cheong said PSP officers seized more than two grammes of ice from the suspects.

The 53-year-old jobless Filipino arrested for selling drugs surnamed Jadormio, holds a Macau ID card. The five Filipino suspects comprise three men and two women, aged between 27 and 41. Two of them are non-resident workers employed as a gardener and domestic helper respectively, while three of them are unemployed.

According to Cheong, the Public Security Police received a tip-off on Sunday night that some people were taking drugs in a hotel guestroom in Si Ta Hau.

PSP officers arrived at the hotel and intercepted a Filipino surnamed Lariosa. They seized two packets of ice weighing 0.59 grammes in total and drug-taking paraphernalia from him.

Lariosa admitted that he bought the drugs for 600 patacas from Jadormio in a hotel guestroom earlier that night. Lariosa took the police officers to the room where they found five “lethargic” Philippine nationals including Jadormio. The officers seized several small packets of ice weighing a total of 1.5 grammes as well as a quantity of drug-taking paraphernalia in the room.

Under questioning, Jadormio admitted that he had checked into the room earlier that day and invited his friends to the room for a “drug party”. The five suspects admitted that they were in the guestroom to take drugs. All of them tested positive for ice, Cheong said, adding that the police were still tracing the source of the drugs.

The five suspects were transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) on Monday, facing drug charges, according to Cheong.
