Sands China Ltd. is hosting the 2021 Sands Shopping Carnival from July 23 to July 25 at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo and is calling for exhibitors to register for free booths until May 24, according to a statement by Sands China.

The statement pointed out that to support the development of local SME’s, the three-day shopping event will comprise over 560 booths and provides a free business platform for local SMEs and Sands retailers during the pandemic period.

The statement added that Sands has consistently supported local SMEs since the launch of its Local Supplier Support Programme with the Macao Chamber of Commerce in July 2015, continuing throughout the pandemic period. The programme is also in accordance with the government’s initiative to “buy local”.

The statement said that the event is the largest shopping event of its kind in Macau. Aside from offering a retail experience, the event will allow families to enjoy various activities together, including an expanded international-cuisine food court area, shows, lucky draws, and activities for children.The statement added that more information about the carnival and its attractions, including a karaoke competition open to the public and a little master chef workshop, will be announced in due time.

According to the statement, the event is organised by Sands China Ltd. and co-organised by the Macau Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), and Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM). The statement said that it also supports the government’s Consume for the Economy initiative and the e-consumption voucher scheme.

The statement underlined that to implement COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures, Sands China will conduct temperature checks, monitor crowd size, require mandatory wearing of facemasks,regular sanitisation and cleaning of public areas and kids’ facilities, and provide disinfectants and hand sanitisers at all booths and carnival entry/exit points.
