Engines revving as Macau Grand Prix gets underway

At 7:30 a.m. yesterday 28 revving motorbikes roared off to get the 65th Macau Grand Prix up and running.

There had been a little bit of rain before the race started so that the race track was a little damp but not so much as to be slippery for the two-wheel warriors.

However, the day got off to a shaky start when the 52nd Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix free practice session was shortened by red flags due to two accidents, one involving debutant Andrew Dudgeon from the Isle of Man, almost immediately after the start and then Spanish rider Raul Torras who was also making his debut on the Guia Circuit crashing on the Mandarin Oriental Bend with his bike immediately bursting into flames.
